Professional Experience
Shell EPE, Aberdeen, UK
Sep 06 – Present: Production Technology Consultant, Brent/Penguins Field UKCS
• Brent/Penguins field production technology consultant. Continuously monitor and optimise the Integrated Production System. Manage well integrity within Shell guidelines.
• Focal point and primary engineer for devising commissioning procedures, guidelines and training of offshore personnel for commissioning of Penguins gas lift which is a 65km tie-back to Brent Charlie. Transient modeling techniques (OLGA) used to determine commissioning process in safest and most efficient manner. Presenting project and results at ASME/IPO/API Gas Lift Conference in Houston, USA.
• Generate well performance improvement proposals. Plan a variety of well improvement proposals including WSO, adding perforations, gas lift optimisation, workovers through HWO and main rig.
• Carry out studies to optimise and maintain field production and integrity. Carried out a review of the new “low pressure operation” pressure drops to understand where bottlenecks exist after the system changes.
• Input into a reliable Integrated Production System Capacity forecast.
• Ensure appropriate models and technology are used and maintained.
• Carry out reviews with Production Chemistry to determine scaling environment severity and scaling tendency of various types of scale. Review scale management strategy and suggest improvements/changes to current and proposed strategies.
