Professional Experience
2001 - Now: Reservoir/Well Engineer in BP Vietnam
• Q3 2001 - 2002:
- Familiarizing with BP Fields in Vietnam by reading Petroleum Engineering Reports, End of Drilling/Completion Reports, etc.
• 2003 - 2004:
- Working on a Da Nang Fields project. The project was related to designing a gas transportation pipeline using MBAL, Prosper, GAP models.
- Supporting Senior Reservoir Engineers in collecting reservoir engineering data.
• 2004 - 2005:
- Working on Lan Tay Gas Field as a Surveillance Engineer.
- Preparing and updating Surveillance Plans every year.
- Providing monthly P-Q curves on the wells for Operational instructions by using Prosper model.
- Monitoring all required measurements from Surveillance Plan. Inputting Surveillance activities into monthly production reports and preparing and presenting slides for every monthly Production meetings.
- Involving in data preparation for all BP fields (Lan Tay, Hai Thach and Moc Tinh) for Reserves Support Package project and Reservoir Technical Limit.
- Participating in Peer Review by preparing reservoir and well data. Being responsible and presenting the Surveillance Engineering in Lan Tay field.
• 2005 - now: Working as a link between Subsurface and Operations Departments by taking responsibilities for both Reservoir/Surveillance Engineering and Well Engineering.
- Reservoir Engineering: continuing all above. In addition, taking lead the HASDL (Hydro Acoustic Sub-sea Data Logger) refurbishment on an appraisal well for reservoir parameter monitoring (2005).
- Production/Well:
i. Provide well engineering expertise related to operation, maintenance and testing Lan Tay development wells.
ii. Supporting the implementation of Well Integrity Management Scheme.
iii. Acting as a link between the reservoir and sub-sea disciplines to ensure technical limits are understood and followed.
iv. Preparing, issuing and updating monthly Well Flowing Criteria to ensure safe, efficient operations on the wells
v. Preparing and organizing well-tests programs and analyzing results to determine well flow conditions.
vi. Working closely with Commercial and Subsurface teams on ichoke model.
- Coordinating, preparing and presenting the Production Technical Limit project.
Eductation
2004 - Now: Studying the Distance-Learning MSc of Petroleum Engineering in Heriot Watt University in the UK. Plan for graduation is end of 2007.
1995 - 2001: University of Technology in Ho Chi Minh City, Faculty of Geology and Petroleum, Discipline of Drilling and Production Technology.
