Supervises and co-ordinates the operations of above refinery units. Assumes overall responsibility for safe and efficient operation of these units and responsible for all activities of operations which includes monitoring of plant equipments, adjustment in operating parameters and quality control of products. Directs subordinates, supervises and participates during critical activities like plant start ups, shutdown and emergencies as per established operating procedures. Coordinates / maintains follow up on all maintenance activities in this assigned operating area.

I worked as SHIFT CONTROLLER – responsible for optimum trouble-free and efficient operation of the entire complex in shifts. We had a team of 6 shift Engineers, 8 panel operators and 20 field operators reporting to me in a shift. My job includes the following
Guide a team of Engineers and operators in process trouble shooting; Provide sufficient technical support to optimize plant operation; In day shifts, coordinate daily Process Engineering calculation to monitor overall efficiency and report it to the Unit Head; Monitor Performance of various process units and equipments; Suggest and implement modifications required for the process and equipments; Allocate work areas to shift Engineers, field Operators & panel Operators; Optimize manpower utilization ; Organize production activities in shifts to realize the target figure fixed by the chief of the production department; Coordinate start up and shut down activities; Coordinate activities in shifts during annual maintenance; Issue necessary work permits to performing departments for vessel entry / welding works / cold works / vessel box up / routine maintenance.

1980 – 1985: B.Tech in Chemical engineering from Calicut University, India
1977 – 1980: B. Sc in Physics from University of Kerala, India
1999 – 2000: Diploma in Information System Management, Computer course from Aptech Computer

IT Skill: MS Word, Excel, MS Access (advanced)
