Professional Experience
Genesis (Sep. 2008 – Present)
Lead Pipeline Engineer
The involving projects were pipelines detailed design.
1- Oilexco North Sea Limited, Ptarmigan Field Development
Detailed mechanical design of 8” production and 4” piggybacked gas lift for wall thickness, on-bottom stability, spanning, expansion, protection philosophy, cathodic protection, route selection, fabrication specification.
2- Pipe-In-Pipe Expansion Calculations in MatchCAD
3- Drop mattress analysis
4- Developed Strain Based Design Methodology
5- Developed a MatchCAD sheet for the Calculation of Buried HPHT PIP Plastic Strain with Hardening on a Prop
6- Training engineers for detailed design of pipelines.
J P KENNY CALEDONIA LIMITED (Aug. 2006 – Sep. 2008)
Senior Pipeline Engineer
1- Acergy Petro Canada Flexible Pipeline Upheaval Buckling Design
2- CNR Lyell Upheaval Buckling Design
It involved obtaining the required rockdumping over the 14.2 km rigid pipeline between Lyell and Ninian South.
3- CNR Lyell Crossing Design
The configuration of the crossings and the required rock cover was obtained.
4- CNR Lyell Freespan Design
5- CNR Lyell Tie-in Spool and Flange Design
The tie-in spool for the production and water injection flowlines were designed.
6- Fiddich under the Platform Spool Design
7- Total Laggan Tie-in Spool and Flange Design
8- BP Madoes Manifold and Flanges Design
9- BP Madoes Production Pipeline Expansion and Cooling Spool Design
10- BP Madoes Production Pipeline Out of Straightness (OOS) Analysis
The production pipeline was modelled considering the exact seabed shape and backfill and rockdump cover heights to check for Upheaval Buckling (UHB) with the increased operating temperature.
11- 3D Finite Element Analysis of Pipe-in-Pipe Reeling Modelling in ABAQUS
12- Total Dunbar and Alwyn Pipe-in-Pipe Tie-in spools Design in ABAQUS
The pipelines and tie-in spools were pipe-in-pipe and were modelled in ABAQUS and then checked by DNV-F101.
13- Total Frigg System Spanning and Lateral Buckling Assessment
14- Total and BP Bruce Pipeline:
The pipeline flange connection to SSIS needed to be broken, and the pipeline be lifted with airbags and H-Frames. Integrity of the pipeline was an issue during this operation. The operation was modelled by Abaqus
15- Al-Rayyan Field Development in Qatar for Occidental Petroleum
