Corrosion & Chemical Treatment Consultant

I did actively coordinate my work with other engineers from other departments such as Petroleum; Reservoir; Production; Process and Maintenance etc. This is vital to monitor any process hick ups and take the adequate remedial and/ or preventive measures. Prescribe the suitable chemical treatment programme and monitor its performance.

The following is a brief description of my current duties and past achievements

1: I did supervise the activities of fields’ corrosion engineers and technicians, Interviewed new recruits.
2: Introduced new projects; written scopes of work, to reduce cost of equipment failure; improve the efficiency of corrosion mitigation, budget preparation, technical and financial report presentation
3: Designed and applied different chemical treatment and corrosion monitoring programmes, considering various, existing, oil production mechanisms
4: Prepared frequent (monthly, semiannual and annual) technical reports analyzing results of various corrosion management techniques such as chemical treatment, corrosion monitoring, cathodic protection, NDT methods (i.e. Intelligent pigging, wall thickness data, etc).
5: Predicted, described and tackled various phenomena that have developed in the fields.

PhD thesis in Surface Chemistry

I have specifically investigated the interaction and efficiency of various corrosion inhibitors on metal surfaces. Techniques used including XPS, AES, SIMS and FTRAIRS.

1982-87: Concord Water Treatment, Abu Dhabi, UAE
Technical Sales Manager:

Managed the sales and after sale services of treating chemicals (supplied by Houseman) for industrial water treatment and oilfield applications. Carried out chemical trials and monitored their progress. Designed and installed Cathodic Protection systems supplied by Cathodic Protection Company in the UK. During this period, I used to give presentations through technical and marketing conferences and workshops.
