• Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies from local and overseas markets, and interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales.
• Build and develop relationships with key Steel Mills like Hyundai Steel (Korea),Nippon Steel Corporation (Japan) , ArcelorMittal (Spain & Luxembourg) ,Siam Yamato (Thailand) ,Corus (U.K), Tung Ho (Taiwan), Evraz Highveld(South Africa) , Jindal & Essar (India) ,Posco ( Korea) ,Dongkuk (Korea) and many other mill associates .
• Implement procurement strategies and policies.
• Responsible for planning, developing and buying materials, parts, supplies and equipments in a timely and cost effective way; while maintaining quality standards and specifications.
• Prepare reports regarding market conditions, Project Purchase and costs to discuss with Finance Credit Controller & CEO.
• Coordinate for Quality Assurance Programs by coordinating with Quality Dept.
• Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability.
• Help Estimation Department in preparing the quotes for bidding in tenders.
• Liaise with different delegation regarding deliveries of Supplies.
• Lead the procurement group in all phases.
• Identify and develop training opportunities (ERP Software, Quality Requirements) .
• Liaise with Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary for the business with the supplier
• Arrange for disposal of surplus materials.
• Provide the Status of Purchase to ‘Planning Dept’ , ‘Production Dept’ & ‘Project Dept’ for further execution of work.
• Attend weekly meetings with all other HOD ‘S to discuss the respective project requirements in order to avoid shortcomings and meet the deadlines.
