DEPUTY CHIEF ACCOUNTANT - Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL)
Currently, I am working as an Accounts and Taxation Section Head in PPL, a pioneer Oil and Gas E&P Company in Pakistan, having 24% share in the Country’s Oil and Gas production.
Responsibilities:
Accounts and Taxation Section (Finance Department)
• Finalisation of monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements
• Effective coordination with Company’s Statutory Auditors
• Effective coordination with Internal Audit department
• Periodic analytical review reports for Board of Directors
• Managing Direct Tax matters.
• Representing PPL at various forums
• Handling queries of Ministries
• Following-up pending payments from gas distribution companies

Joint Venture Finance Section (Finance Department)
• Ensuring efficient and effective supervision of financial and accounting matters of Joint Ventures
• Comprehensive reviews of annual budgets
• Representing PPL in Operations Committee Meetings
• Thorough review of various Petroleum Concession Agreements
• Analytical commercial and financial evaluation of various capital projects
• Participation in financial negotiation meetings relating to capital projects.

Business Development Department
• Economic evaluations of diversified investments in onshore and offshore PPL interest held fields
• Economic evaluation of prospective international Oil and Gas fields • Member of the team involved in Due Diligence for acquisition of Chachar Gas field
• Member of the team responsible for evaluation and acquisition of various Petroleum Industry specific softwares

• Conceptualisation of PPL Annual Reports 2008 to 2010
• Worked as domain expert while upgradation of MySAP

Substantial exposure of working in computerised environments. MySAP (version Ecc:6) is implemented in Pakistan Petroleum Limited.

During the stay in IEC, I had actively participated in the implementation of SAP Business One ERP solution.

SIGNIFICANT ACHIEVEMENTS
In addition to successfully performing my duties as Accounts and Taxation Section Head in PPL, I played a major role in conceptualisation of PPL Annual Reports 2008 and 2009, which stood first and won the titles of Best Corporate Report Award in Oil & Gas Sector and among all sectors, respectively, given by the Joint Committee of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan. The Annual Report 2009 also won the first award by the South Asian Federation of Accountants.

In view of increasing needs for finances due to business growth of IEC, I successfully managed working capital of the Company. Moreover, I played an effective role in the implementation of SAP Business One ERP solution in IEC.
