• Executing cargo plant testing and maintenance as directed by the Chief Engineer, including cargo pumps, booster pumps, BOG compressors, reliquefaction plant, control and automation systems, Nitrogen and inert gas generators, gas detection equipment and safety devices in accordance with the vessel’s planned maintenance system and as applicable to the gas carrier type (LPG).
• Executing cargo operations as directed by Chief Engineer, including monitoring and recording of tank atmosphere, inerting, purging and cooling of the tanks and the preparation of pipe lines and manifolds for the transfer of cargo and handling of BOG in accordance with the vessels cargo operations manual.
• Ensuring the observance of all precautions on safety and the avoidance of the pollution.
• Supporting other officers in the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of related systems, including power generation, control and automation, boilers, propulsion and refrigeration plant.
