Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Planning and Execution of Preventive,predictive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipments.Trouble shooting and fault finding in electrical control circuit.

Maintenance Job:
•Monitoring, planning and implementation of various maintenance activities including preventive, corrective, predictive and breakdown maintenance
•Trouble shooting, fault diagnosis and failure analysis to determine maintenance action plan.
•Identifying problem areas and taking measures to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
•Hands on experience in overhauling of HT motors, etc, handling annual turnarounds maintenance and inspection jobs and making reports for top management presentation.
• Testing, calibration and co-ordination of all the relays such as earth fault, phase fault, differential protection, motor protection, transformer protection, reverse power etc.
• Laying and testing of XLPE, PVC, FRLS cables and trouble shooting of all electrical circuits.
• Supervising maintenance contracts to ensure that these are carried out as per specifications and within stipulated time frame.
• Ensure compliance to safety systems.
• Using maintenance management software [SAP/R3] for material ordering, technical data, equipment history, maintenance job cards etc.
• Handling a force of engineers and skilled workmen
• Trouble shooting of the equipments, rotating as well as static.
• Failure Investigation, identifying root cause and taking remedial measures to avoid the recurrence of the incidence and improve equipment reliability.
• Preparation of scope of work for the maintenance jobs and cost estimation.
• Monitoring the progress of the jobs.
• Shut down planning and making detailed schedules of the jobs.
• Procurement of the material for a particular job as well as for the regular maintenance of the plant machinery.
• As plants handles gases like Hydrogen, Ammonia, Amides etc. most of the plant areas fall in the hazardous zone. Hence equipment are flameproof / increased safety type and suitable for gas groups IIA, IIB and IIC and temperature class T3.

Worked with with Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd, Thal Unit, Maharashtra India, from 25th sept 1982 to 7th feb 2012, which is one of the largest gas based ammonia / urea producing unit in Asia. In my 29 years of career with the company, I have worked in Urea Plants, Ammonia Plants, Product Handling Plant and Chemical Plants in various positions (Electrical) and in Project department.
