Basra Oil Company (BOC) is a national oil company responsible for oil production in southern Iraq. It is situated in the city of Basra, and it is one of the major fundamental formations of the Iraq National Oil Company (INOC). As an English Language Teacher for BOC, I taught English to adult employees of the company. I taught on a rotational basis while living on Majnoon Field, an oil field in a remote area of southern Iraq.

As a Consultant with The Academic Partnership, I oversee TAP’s presence in Africa. My responsibilities include teacher recruitment, TESOL training, school and university relationship management, government relations, and affordable school development.

BISK is a private international KG to grade 13 school with over 600 students located in the city of Erbil, the capital city of Kurdistan Region, the autonomous region of Iraq. In my capacity as a Social Studies Teacher at British International Schools of Kurdistan (BISK), an international school that delivers both the British and American curriculum, I taught World History, Geography, and Social Studies. As the Head of the Social Studies Department I was responsible for four teachers who, along with myself, administered both an American and British Social Studies curriculum to students from grade 7 to grade 13. The subjects within my department included World History, U.S. History, Geography, Social Studies, Business, Economics, Political Science, Journalism, Current Events, Model United Nations, and ICT.
