Mohammed Ahmed Al-Murr, the Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) received in his office at the General Secretariat of the FNC, Hamid Chebira, Algerian Ambassador to the UAE. Both sides stressed the depth of good relations between the two countries, especially at the leadership level, emphasising the importance of mutual visits in all different fields, especially the parliamentary field. Al-Murr stressed the strength of historic relations between the two countries, thanks to the wisdom of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who had strove to bolster the ties, adding that President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed A Nahyan, has been following up the footsteps of the late Sheikh Zayed to sustain the ties.
The two sides also discussed the Legislative Parliamentary Elections in Algeria and the current Arab situation, as well as the latest international and regional developments. Al-Murr received an invitation from Abdul Qadir bin Saleh, Algerian National Assembly Speaker to conduct more talks on enhancing cooperation between the two countries at the parliamentary level. For his part, the Algerian envoy praised comprehensive development being experienced by the UAE in all sectors, stressing special status of the UAE among Algerians.
