Minister of Electricity and Energy Dr. Hassan Younis said that 7,600 km of state-owned land was allocated for establishing projects for the production of power from solar and wind energies. The Minister pointed out that the projects, with an estimated capacity of 1,000 megawatts, will be offered on four stages to the private sector and investors to implement 65 percent of them according to the B.O.O (build-own-operate) system. Younis stressed that the Cabinet under Prime Minister Kamal al-Ganzouri approved to support the project for producing renewable energy.
