Fayez Tarawne Holds Talks with his Czech Counterpart

Prime Minister Fayez Tarawneh held talks with his Czech counterpart Petr Necas on means of forging closer economic and trade cooperation between the two countries as well as increasing Czech investments in the Kingdom in the fields of energy, water and mega projects. During the talks, which were attended by officials from both sides, the Czech prime minister valued Jordan's role in the Middle East as well as reforms carried out by the Kingdom. Necas hailed Jordan's role to achieve regional stability and peace as well as the wise policies of His Majesty King Abdullah II. Tarawneh for his part highlighted centrality of the Palestinian issue as well as Jordan's stance on various regional issues. Both prime ministers urged the private sector from both countries to boot ties for the interest of both countries. Earlier, Tarawneh and his Czech counterpart held a bilateral meeting that focused on cooperation between the two countries as well as developments in the Middle East.

They also held a press conference in which they reviewed the outcome of their talks. Tarawneh said that both countries have a political will to strengthen bilateral ties in various fields, noting that they also have a common vision on a number of issues. On Syria, the prime minister called for a more active role by the international community to solve the Syrian crisis. He said that Jordan is currently hosting more than 135,000 Syrian, noting that "we will not give up our humanitarian role towards the Syrian people". The premier also voiced hope to reach a peaceful solution in Syria that ends bloodshed. Jordan, he said backs efforts of the UN-Arab League envoy to Syrian Kofi Annan. Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Nayef AL Fayez and Minister of Industry and Trade Shabib Ammari also met with their Czech counterparts and discussed means of enhancing cooperation in various fields.
