Local drinking water bottles of all sizes have disappeared from the markets in Cairo & the governorates and some unfair traders are abusing the development to offer the bottles at L.E. 2.5 for the small size and L.E. 4 for the large size. Prices compare with L.E. 1.25 & L.E. 2.5 per bottle weeks ago. (Strange is that several coffee chains and first class department stores started offering French made mineral water bottles of a world reputed brand at L.E. 7 for the small size bottles & at L.E. 14 for the large size bottles). On his side Egypt's Minister of State for to have Public Utilities, Dr. Eng. Abdel Qawi Khalifa, appealed on the citizens to trust and rely on tabs' water particularly at governorates receiving Nile water supplies. Fact remains that the Consumers' Protection Agency has shut down 8 water bottling factories with other eight factories said passed relevant water quality tests.
