Matters of common concern to the UAE and Finland and viewpoints on international organizations were discussed by Assistant foreign minister for international organizations affairs Saeed Mohammed Al-Shamsi and Finnish ambassador to the UAE Ilkka Pekka Salmela. The Finnish ambassador delivered an invitation to the High-Level Lunch Event on Women's Access to Justice, which is scheduled on 24 September in New York on the sidelines of the High Level Meeting of the United Nations 67th General Assembly on the Rule of Law, to the UAE official.
The UAE official hailed the strategic partnership with Finland and its role in empowering women and access to justice Al-Shamsi highlighted vision of the UAE's prudent leadership for empowering women and, describing them as a pillar of society, he also underscored their vital role in the process of development and building. He also highlighted the efforts by H.H Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and Chairwoman of Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, as instrumental for more achievements by women in the UAE.
