Bilateral Relations between Jordan and Kuwait

Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour stressed the strong and historical ties between Jordan and Kuwait and said the close relationship between the ruling families of both countries further contributed to boosting ties between the two countries and peoples. At a meeting with Kuwaiti Trade Minister Anas Al Saleh, Ensour voiced Jordan's appreciation for Kuwait's support to the Kingdom, pointing to Kuwait's contribution to the $5-billion Gulf fund to Jordan. The Gulf fund was allocated by the GCC during a summit in 2011 to support development projects in the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait and Qatar decided to extend $5billion over a five-year period to support development schemes in Jordan. Each GCC nation will pay $1.25billion. The premier said that Kuwait ranks first among Arab countries investing in the Kingdom, adding Jordan is keen to provide all necessary facilities to Kuwaiti investors. The Kuwaiti minister conveyed greetings of the Kuwaiti Prime Minister Jaber Al Mubarak Al Sabah to Ensour as well as his keenness to boost relations with Jordan in various fields. He said Kuwait was keen to contribute to the Gulf fund to Jordan to support the Kingdom's economy and address challenges facing it.
