Minister of Scientific Research Nadia Zakhari stressed the ministry is working hard to maximize the benefits of researches and scientific studies and to realize progress in Egypt in general and in Sinai in particular.
This came during the opening ceremony of the first forum on the role of scientific research in developing Sinai and Suez Canal Axis, which was organized Sunday by the ministry under the auspices of President Mohamed Morsi. The forum was attended by former Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, who also chairs the scientific committee for developing Sinai at the Ministry of Scientific Research and the ministers of Higher Education, Culture, Housing, Agriculture, Local Development, Utilities and Awqaf, and governors of North Sinai, Ismailia, Port Said, Materouh and Kafr El-Sheikh and other representatives of NGOs and Sinai tribes, universities, investors, and businessmen. Zachary said that the ministry had collected all researches and studies related to Sinai development from various centers and research institutions whether affiliated to the ministry. Minister of Housing Tarek Wafik confirmed that the development of Sinai will resume even if leaderships change, pointing out that Suez Canal axis draft law will double the revenues. |
