The World Bank (WB) has boosted the number of its experts in charge of offering technical support to Egyptian programs and projects in view of the bank's support for the Egyptian government and its socio-economic reform plans, the WB executive director for the Middle East said on Thursday 28/11/2013.
Emerging from a meeting with Egyptian Finance Minister Ahmed Galal, Hasan Mirza lauded the comprehensive reform vision of the government of Premier Hazem el-Beblawi in the current stage. He added that the WB was restructuring decision-making mechanisms to contribute to improve services and step up cooperation with WB member states, especially Egypt. Galal said Egypt will continue cooperating with the World Bank to draw on its expertise in implementing its socio-economic development plans in the coming period. He expounded that the socio-economic reform program is meant to activate economy, realize social justice, improve people's living conditions and combat poverty. He noted that senior WB officials visited Egypt several times after the June 30 revolution. |
