The Cabinet has denied media reports that an amendment has been made to the agricultural land taxation law.
In a statement on 17/01/2014, the Cabinet said that the law imposes taxes on the rental value of the agricultural lands and excludes farmers who possess less than three acres. The rental value is considered every 10 years, the statement said, adding that the value has not been amended over the past 20 years. No plans to amend the law or increase the tax, the Cabinet reaffirmed. |
