Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab asserted that the success of presidential elections and the Egyptians' will to choose their president has strengthened the June 30 revolution and will help Egypt restore its position within the African Union.
In statements following a meeting with members of the African Construction and Building Union, Mahlab said Egypt suffered a lot over the past three years, but it has never been isolated from Africa. Egypt has been the heart of Africa and has led all liberation movements with the backing of late Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nassr. "Time is now ripe for integration with our African brothers", Mahlab said, asserting that Egypt is resolved to continue interaction with other African countries in the coming phase through the implementation of development projects. Activation of the African Contractors Union has become a necessity in order to put into effect African development projects, Mahlab said, asserting that representatives of African contractors companies have come to Egypt in a very important timing for the Egyptian people who chose a new president. |
