At the meeting, Shaikh Khalid welcomed the UAE envoy and wished him success in carrying out his diplomatic duty. During the meeting, Sheikh Khalid also praised the leading role played by Bahrain through generous contributions of the Gulf Development Programme, which aims to support and strengthen the infrastructure of the Kingdom of Bahrain. He pointed out that the GCC Development Programme, as well as the honorable stance of the UAE towards Bahrain's leadership, government and people in different events and circumstances, all reflect clearly the depth of the well-established relations since the establishment of the two countries by the late Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa and the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, following their approach His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain and President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the UAE. Sheikh Khalid told Al Khouri that he would receive all support and assistance to facilitate his diplomatic mission, and consolidate, as well as develop, relations between the two countries.
