Minister of Communications and Information Technology Khaled Negm said the main aim behind changing the government representatives in the board of Telecom Egypt is boosting the sector with new experiences to improve the service offered to citizens.
The remark was made at a press conference held by the minister on 30/5/2015 to explain the reasons of changing the company's board before the end of the legal term of the current board which ends on August 11. Negm said Telecom Egypt has large potentials which are not yet utilized, noting that he is still waiting the outcome of discussions and agreements by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) to improve internet services according to the new price list. The Minister also said discussions are expected to end within a week or two, asserting that the ministry would stand firm against any monopoly in this sector. |
