Prime Minister Sherif Ismail inspected a number of factories at the industrial zone in 10th of Ramadan City.
Flanked during the tour by the trade and industry minister and the Sharqia governor, Ismail asserted that upgrading the industrial sector is one of the government's top priorities. The prime minister also stressed government's keenness to protect local products against foreign competition and importation of goods through enforcing protectionism law. Ismail, meanwhile, underlined government's eagerness to create a positive investment climate to lure local, Arab and foreign investments. The tour included visits to LG, Piedco fabrics, and El Malka Pasta factories. For his part, Minister of Trade and Industry Tareq Qabil said that his ministry seeks to overcome all bureaucratic challenges facing Egypt's comprehensive development strategy. Under-construction industrial zones in Qwisna and Badr cities will be finalized soon, Qabil added. Egypt's industrial hub, 10th of Ramadan City, comprises 2,038 registered factories with investments worth 21.9 Billion EGP. The industrial city has more than 350,000 workers. During 2015, some 411 new projects were given a green light in the city, creating over 35,000 job opportunities. |
