 President Abdel Fattah El Sisi approved a proposal to establish a higher council for investment to supervise the State's business strategies and take necessary measures to promote investments.
The proposal was presented by Investment Minister Dalia Khorshid during a meeting chaired by the president and attended by Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Yousef said. During the meeting, the minister briefed the president about a program to increase indirect investments coming to Egypt, the spokesman said. Under the program, a number of state-owned companies will offer securities on the stock market. A tripartite committee will be formed to supervise the offering, the minister said. It will comprise the ministers of investment and finance along with the deputy governor of the Central Bank of Egypt. |
