Indian TCI Sanmar Increases Investments in Egypt by $280

The Indian renowned TCI Sanmar is expected to increase its investments in Egypt by $280 million to double its production of Polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

According to Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil, the company has plans to double production to 400,000 tons. Its total investments in Egypt would hit $1.3 billion .

The minister made the remarks during a meeting with PS Jayaraman, the chairman of the Board of TCI Sanmar Chemicals .

The meeting took up the development of the Indian company's caustic soda project in Port Said. The factory produces 180,000 tons of caustic soda and 200,000 tons of PVC every year .

The company exports about 60 percent of its products while the 40 percent of products are consumed by the Egyptian market .
