The National Assembly Speaker of Kuwait Marzouq Al-Ghanim and his accompanying delegation met with World Bank (WB) President Jim Yong Kim in Washington late , discussing with him economic reform in Kuwait.
During the meeting held on the sidelines of the Global Parliamentary Conference which conluded, the two sides affirmed the importance of joint cooperation between the bank and Kuwait to boost the country's economy. Speaking to KUNA and Kuwait TV, Al-Ghanim said his meetings with international parliamentary delegations during the conference were of great importance. The Kuwaiti delegation learned of the impact of political changes on the economy of different countries, he noted. They also shared experience in overcoming obstacles facing small and medium-sized enterprises, he added. Al-Ghanim took part in the global conference held in Washington from April 17 to 18, organized by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank. The Kuwaiti delegation also included MPs Safa Al-Hashem, Salah Khorshid, Abdulwahab Al-Babtain and Thamer Al-Suwait. |
