Chairwoman of the Egyptian General Authority for Investment (GAFI) Mona Zobaa met with an Indonesian high-level delegation, chaired by the Asian country’s presidential adviser on boosting the bilateral cooperation.
The meeting touched on the moderate investment volume between Cairo and Jakarta, despite the historic deep ties between the two countries dating back to almost 70 years ago. Egypt has 20 Indonesian companies working on the industrial field, with investments worth 40 million dollars. The Egyptian and Indonesian sides stressed the importance of studying all the potential mutual cooperation domains, in an attempt to increase such investments to a level befitting the volume of bilateral relations. They also discussed the investment climates in both countries, the domains of the mutual cooperation, and the investment potentials. The Indonesian delegation said it wanted to boost the religious tourism into Egypt, as it enjoyed a bonanza of religious attractions, especially Al Azhar University and Mosque, where around 7000 Indonesian students were studying. |
