 The economic reforms recently carried out by the government have rendered Egypt a more attractive investment destination.
Minister of Trade and Industry met , in his office in Cairo, with representatives of 39 major international financial institutions, currently visiting Egypt to participate in EFG Hermes’ second annual Egypt Conference, held on Jan 15-17. The meeting tackled the economic reform program adopted by the government and its positive impact on the economy. “The economic reforms recently carried out by the government have significantly contributed to creating a better business climate, rendering Egypt a more attractive destination for local and foreign investments,” Kabil said during the meeting. Among the measures taken are a new investment law that offers considerable incentives and tax exemptions to investors, and another that streamlines the industrial licensing procedure and reduces the waiting time to only seven days, he pointed out. The ministry, he added, has launched a strategy for developing industry and foreign trade, a new industrial investment map providing a robust database about the investment opportunities available across the country, in addition to establishing many specialized industrial parks in various governorates. |
