The third African Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation, which kicked off aims to achieve economic growth and hone the competitiveness of the private sector in Africa, said Higher Education Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar.
The African STI Forum will focus on the role of the private sector in five research areas: climate change, nutrition, water, ICT and pharmaceuticals, Abdel Ghaffar told MENA. Some important recommendations should be reached at the end of the three-day event, he said, adding that strategies of future support for science, technology innovation in Africa should also be announced. |
