a youth-centered non-profit organization, in partnership with the Canadian Embassy in Amman, the Canadian Office of International Education and the Ryerson University, Canada, launched on Sunday a Canadian-funded project to support economic opportunities for women in Jordan, aimed at promoting women's role in economic development in various fields, and to overcome the challenges facing women in the labor market.
On the occasion, the Canadian Ambassador to Jordan, Peter McDougall, said the project aims to support economic opportunities for Jordanian women to increase their participation in the labor market and make a clear difference in this field. The program, he added, will achieve positive results on the ground thanks to its implementation with INJAZ, which has a key record in teaching leadership and entrepreneurial skills to women. "Canada is proud to work with Jordanians and NGOs in this humanitarian work. Jordan is an important partner in this field," he noted. For her part, INJAZ Executive Director, Dima Al-Baybi, underlined the importance of the partnership between the organization, the Canadian Embassy, the Canadian Office for International Education, and the Ryerson University, Canada, in a bid to give the Jordanian youth the opportunity to become active members in their societies and contribute to the development of the national economy. The project, she added, will boost women's role in the business entrepreneurship environment and eyes to benefit from the Canadian expertise in this field. |
