The Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Dr. Sahar Nasr met with Lebanese Prime Minister Mr. Saad El-Hariri during her visit to Lebanon, in presence of Egypt's Ambassador to Beirut Mr. Nazih al-Najari and the Egyptian Commercial Counselor in Beirut Ms. Mona Wahba.
The Minister extended greetings of Egypt's PM Dr. Mustafa Madbouli to his Lebanese counterpart, where the meeting tackled enhancing Egyptian- Lebanese economic relations, particularly in light of the convention of the Egyptian-Lebanese Business Forum. The meeting also discussed activating partnership between both governments and between the private sectors of both countries. Further, both sides discussed outcomes of the Egyptian-Lebanese Higher Committee's follow-up meetings held in Beirut during the visit. Officials also tackled Egypt's keenness on holding the higher committee as soon as possible following the formation of the Lebanese government in light of both sides' interest in promoting current cooperation frameworks in a manner that would achieve the interests of both countries' peoples. The means of promoting joint investments and increasing Lebanese investments in Egypt were also touched on. On his part, the Lebanese PM emphasized his appreciation of the Egyptian role in the region under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi as well as the deep-rooted relations between both countries. He pointed out that the recent legislative reforms carried out by Egypt rendered it an investment-attractive country, highlighting Lebanon's keenness on intensifying exchange of experience with Egypt in encouraging investment and the private sector of both countries to carry out joint ventures. As for Dr. Nasr, she mentioned that Egypt's investment climate was suitable for injecting further investments by Lebanese businessmen, shedding light on the importance given by Egypt to promoting FDIs and increasing joint investments with Arab countries, particularly Lebanon. |
