Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli presided over a meeting to review the draft budget for the 2019-2020 fiscal year.
The meeting was attended by the planning and finance ministers and their deputies. During the meeting, the finance minister said the new budget will focus on promoting fields related to human development and the government program in the health and education domains. The new budget will also focus on decreasing public debt and overall deficit, he added. Madbouli, during the meeting, stressed the necessity of the government's commitment to reducing expenditures to narrow the budget deficit and beef up the volume of government investments. He directed the ministers to increase allocations for investments in the new budget to push forward efforts to improve services, upgrade utilities and secure jobs. |
