Choucair Talks Economic Relations with British, Turkish Ambassadors

Telecommunications Minister Mohamed Choucair, received in his office at the Ministry the Turkish Ambassador to Lebanon, Hakan Cakil. Talks between the pair reportedly touched on means of enhancing the bilateral economic relations.

During his meeting with the Turkish ambassador, Choucair underlined "the depth of the historical relations between the two countries", stressing "the need to make a qualitative leap in the bilateral economic relations." The Turkish ambassador congratulated Choucair on his ministerial post, expressing his country's interest in the various proposals that would enhance bilateral economic cooperation.

On the other hand, Choucair received in his office the British Ambassador to Lebanon, Chris Rampling, who congratulated him on his ministerial post and wished him success in his mission.

Choucair stressed the need to increase the level of economic cooperation with the United Kingdom, especially at the trade and investment levels. The Minister expressed his readiness to help increase communication with the Lebanese private sector to discuss opportunities in both countries.

Ambassador Rampling, in turn, expressed his country's interest in developing relations with Lebanon at the various levels, in its capacity as a unique hub for business in the region.
