Jordan and Tajikistan discussed prospects for higher trade exchange and investment cooperation between the two nations.

Acting President of the Jordan Investment Commission (JIC) Fredon Hartoqa on Tuesday met with the first Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan Muminzod Mubin, and an accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, Hartoqa reviewed the economic reforms in Jordan, namely reformed laws and maintaining agreements with world countries that opened new export markets, in addition to macroeconomic, monetary and financial policies.

He underlined that Jordanian legislation is a progressive one that supports the establishment of projects with high added-value.

He pointed out that the Kingdom has the potential to be a gateway for the Tajik companies interested in the region's markets citing its strategic location, the free trade agreements signed with many countries, and the private sector's economic relations and experience.

The JIC official said free trade agreements Jordan signed over the past few years enabled investors to bring their products to markets with more than one billion consumers.

The two sides also discussed means of enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries, especially in the investment and economic fields.

Mubin spoke about the distinguished bilateral relations, pointing out that the visit aims at enhancing partnership and cooperation between the business sectors in the two countries and elevating it to the desired level.
