After being restructured, the Egyptian-Korean Business Council has held its first session's meetings in Cairo, co-chaired by Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar and Kim Young-sang.
"The Egyptian-Korean Business Council plays an important role in boosting bilateral trade and investments between our two countries," Nassar said. The meetings, he added, are discussing potential opportunities for mutual cooperation between Egypt and South Korea, namely in the fields of automotives, ship making, construction industries, technical education and training, textiles, IT, and electronics. According to official figures, Egypt-South Korea trade grew significantly last year to $2.160 billion, up 52.5% from a year earlier. Main Egyptian exports to South Korea include: medicines, fertilizers, carpets, granite, chemicals and marble; while cars, steel and machinery are among the Egypt's top imports from the Asian country. |
