The share of foreign investments in the state's public debt instruments has reached $22 billion at the end of December 2019, said Finance Minister Mohamed Maait.
During a conference in Cairo held to review the financial performance during Q3 and Q4 2019, Maait said government securities to investors represented 15 percent of the GDP at the end of December, up from 20 percent during the same period in 2018. The minister added that EGP 60 billion of the dues of the Suez Canal certificates were paid back throughout the first half of the current fiscal year. |
