-Brazilian Business Association will work to cement trade and economic between the countries and encourage joint investments.
Brazilian Ambassador in Amman Ruy Pacheco de Azevedo Amaral said the launch of the association will bring together the Jordanian and the Brazilian business community, with the aim of increasing and diversifying trade between the two countries. Trade between both countries has been reasonable, but still below its full potential, he said, adding: "There is a clear path forward to improve our trade relations. In 2019, Brazilian exports to Jordan reached 330 million dollars – a record ever, while the Jordanian exports to Brazil grew 230% and, in the first 6 months of 2020, grew 1.738,5% compared with the same period of last year." He explained that Brazilian exports to Jordan are very concentrated in poultry, beef, coffee and grains, representing 95% of total exports while the vast majority of imports, 98%, from Jordan are fertilizers. "Our common task is to promote not only the growth of the trade but as well its diversification. We will also focus on investments and the increase in tourism in both ways," the ambassador emphasized. |
