A new strategy is being outlined for the overseas and local exhibitions system which is deemed a key pillar for fostering the presence of Egyptian products in global markets and increasing their competitiveness, said Trade and Industry Minister Neveen Gamea .
She affirmed the significance of having an effective alternative to the traditional promotional system of exports in order to avert the negative impact of the novel coronavirus pandemic on the flow of international trade movement. During a meeting with CEO of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce Jan Noether, talks tackled the role of the chamber in supporting joint trade, industrial and investment projects between Egypt and Germany. The minister asserted the importance of taping the German current investment approach towards relocating foreign investments to nearby countries, saying such investments can be directed to the Egyptian market. She added that the government is willing to offer complete support to all domestic and foreign investments in the Egyptian market through providing all forms of industrial services and removing obstacles facing the investments. Gamea pointed out to the key role of digital platforms in enhancing global economic cooperation throughout the current period, within the framework of efforts meant to confront the ramifications of COVID 19 on the global economy. The German-Arab chamber is the largest in the Middle East with 2,500 companies operating under its umbrella, said Noether, noting the the chamber links between the Egyptian and German governments as well businessmen interested in the markets of both countries. |
