Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali el Moselhi said his ministry is adopting plans to develop factories affiliated to the Holding Company for Food Industries (HCFI) via large investments in order to help them be up to relevant international standards, giving examples such as the Qaha and Edfina companies for food industries.
Moselhi made the remarks as he chaired a meeting of HCFI’s general assembly. The minister said the mechanization of the company’s complexes and warehouses has contributed to identifying the trade of incoming and outgoing commodities. He highlighted HCFI’s pivotal role in providing commodities for consumer complexes and company warehouses. Moselhi also pointed out to the financial burdens borne by HCFI to supply strategic goods, most notably oil and sugar, in light of successive global price hikes due to the recent financial and economic crises. |
