The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has raised the daily cash withdrawal limit in Egyptian pounds for corporations and individuals from banks to EGP 250,000, up from EGP 150,000.
The CBE also increased the maximum limit for withdrawal from ATMs for individuals and corporations from EGP 20,000 to EGP 30,000, read a CBE statement. The decision is meant to facilitate banking operations for citizens and companies, the statement added. According to a CBE report in November, Egypt's financial inclusion rate rose by 5.4 percent, reaching 67.3 percent during the first half of 2023. |
