Minister of Environment, Yasmin Fouad commended a decision by the Arab Academy for Science and Technology (AAST) for integrating environmental programs into its educational and training initiatives.
Fouad noted the importance of scientific research and educational institutions in supporting environmental efforts. She stated that the ministry seeks to capitalize on the expertise of academy's faculties and student innovations for research and practical environmental projects. The two sides outlined a roadmap for cooperation on climate change, focusing on the capacity building and enhancing climate units in various ministries. The AAST will establish a "Climate Change Information Center" to share relevant data and will launch a carbon reduction initiative called "Together to Reduce Carbon," in coordination with the ministry. The initiative includes creating an app, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications, to track daily carbon emissions. |
