Prime Minister Kamal el-Ganzouri attended on 7/3/2012 the signing ceremony of a protocol of cooperation to rehabilitate Northern Lakes. The deal aims at achieving integrated environmental management of coastal areas in order to realize sustainable development. The protocol boosts cooperation between the ministries of environment, scientific research, agriculture, water resources and irrigation.
The protocol calls for devising plans to manage each lake environmentally and economically.
