3rd Arab-India Partnership Conference kicks off

The "3rd Arab-India Partnership Conference: Development through Trade '&' Investment" which will commence in Abu Dhabi under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs. The conclave is organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce '&' Industry (FICCI) in association with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, League of Arab States and Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce '&' Industry between 22-23 May.

Ten Economy ministers from India and Arab countries, heads of major Indian and Arab companies will take part in the conference which runs between 22 - 23 May 2012, according to Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League of Arab States for Economic Affairs Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Tuwaijeri in a press release. The event aims to expand economic, scientific, technological and technical cooperation with India. It also aims to explore the opportunities for the Arab world to further deepen and re-define its economic and cultural relations with India. Trade between Arab countries and India reached US$255 billion by the end of 2011. Arab investments, by Gulf countries in particular, in India went up to US$ 125 during the past two years. Trade between the UAE and India went up to US$67 billion in the same period.
