The Egyptian Stock Exchange (ESE) continued its downward trend at the end of 3/6/2012 trading against the backdrop of renewed protests following yesterday's court ruling which sentenced former president Hosni Mubarak and former interior minister Habib el-Adli to life in prison.
The main benchmark EGX 30 index decreased by 1.3 percent to 4625.62 points. The broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) also went down by 1.3 percent to 402.98 points. The all-embracing EGX 100 index also declined by 1.2 percent to reach 723.23 points. |
