President Mohamed Morsi and his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao witnessed the signing of eight bilateral agreements. The signed agreements state that China would extend to Egypt non-refundable grant of $70 million for establishing joint projects in the fields of infrastructures, electricity, and environment. China will also offer Egypt 300 police cars. The two sides also signed a memo of understanding on processing solid waste and deepening cooperation in the field of environment protection.
Egypt and China also signed an agreement on expanding cooperation in the field of tourism and another one on developing cooperation in the field of agricultural researches. The two countries also signed a cooperation agreement under which China would give Egypt a soft term loan worth $200 million to support small and medium size enterprises. Agreements signed also include a framework agreement between the Chinese National Development Bank and the Egyptian Ministry of Scientific Research on expending cooperation in the field of planning and consultations. The two countries also signed a memo of understanding for expanding cooperation in the field of communications between the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
