Industry and Foreign Trade Minister Hatem Saleh decided to export the Egyptian white rice as of 1/10/2012and to impose exporting fees worth EGP 1,000 per ton. The minister pointed out that the decision aims to export rice production surplus and to ensure good revenues for farmers, adding that the expected production of rice will reach 4.5 million tons, while local market needs do not exceed 3.5 million tons that means one million tons of surplus that makes one billion dollars revenues.
