While angry responses to the Assiut bus-train crash continue, the government announced an all-out plan to develop the Railways authority. Minister of Cooperation and International Planning Ashraf El-Arabi said measures are underway to develop and renovate the railway lines and their system of operation that will last for seven months. It will complete on June 30, 2013. He added that the plan will include developing the railroad crossing signs and supplying the lines with 85 air-conditioned coaches. Also, the plan covers renovating 14 locomotives and 116 coaches. It also includes operating the T.C.T. surveillance system instead of the traditional telephone system used currently.
