Minister of Finance al-Morsy el-Sayed Hegazy said on 8/4/2013 the ministry has prepared a memo to be referred to the Cabinet on conditions of the temporary workers and the proposed mechanisms for improving their conditions in the light of the obstacles facing the Egyptian economy and the increasing general budget deficit.
The ministry proposals are based on the great disparity between the 20 per cent proceeds of the private funds and accounts which goes to the State coffer, and the financial burdens already on the coffer as a result of adjusting the part-time labor conditions and instating the workers. This disparity is attributed to the low value of the temporary labor's contracts in these private funds and accounts, according to the Minister.
