Head of the Nile Valley Authority for River Navigation Mustafa Amer said that the authority’s boats and vessels were regularly operated in Lake Nasser to transport stranded people from and to ports of Abu simble, Aswan, and Wadi Halfa.
Amer said the move came as part of Transport Minister Galal Said’s directives to solve the crisis of around 2200 stranded people in these ports between Egypt and Sudan, after the stop of operation at Qastal and Arqin border crossings in the past few days. He added that all the people with special needs were moved free of any charges. |
