Egypt's International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr met with Lebanese Finance Minister Ali Hasan al-Khalil on the sidelines of the annual conference of the Union of Arab Banks.
They discussed ways to promote bilateral relations and preparations for the next meetings of the joint Egyptian-Lebanese committee that are slated for the first quarter of 2017. Nasr hailed as distinguished ties between Egypt and Lebanon. She said her meeting with the Lebanese minister took up 19 joint cooperation agreements that have yet to be put into effect. She said that the implementation of these agreements is important for promoting economic cooperation between the two countries. Meantime, the Egyptian minister conferred with United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) Rima Khalaf. The meeting tackled ways to boost cooperation between the ESCWA and the Egyptian government in several fields. Khalaf hailed Egypt's recent accomplishment of an initial national review of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Nasr underlined the importance of cooperation with the ESCWA particularly in relation to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. |
